I'm a Digital Marketing Analyst trying to land freelance gigs. Here's my portfolio—how does it look from a client’s perspective?
Hey everyone 👋
I’ve been working as a Digital Marketing Analyst, and I’m now looking to land more freelance gigs. I built a portfolio website to showcase my skills, experience, and work samples:
Before I start aggressively pitching or running outreach campaigns, I wanted to take a step back and review my site from a client’s perspective. What would they really think? Would they feel confident in hiring me based on what they see?
Here’s a quick breakdown of what I’ve observed (and would love your feedback too):
✅ What I think works:
-
Clean and fast-loading site (responsive, SEO-friendly layout)
-
Clear about what I offer – SEO, Ads, Analytics, etc.
-
Certifications and project links are included for proof of knowledge
-
Professional tone without sounding too corporate
⚠️ What I think could be better:
-
No strong call to action (thinking of adding a “Hire Me” or “Free Audit” button)
-
Missing testimonials – I’ve done internships and small projects but haven’t added quotes yet
-
No niche targeting – might work better if I niche down (like “SEO for local businesses” or “Google Ads for small brands”)
-
No pricing info – Not sure if I should add “Starting at ₹X” type pricing or keep it flexible?
🧠 Other ideas I’m considering:
-
Adding short case studies or “Before & After” style results
-
Writing a few blog posts (maybe “Top SEO Mistakes I Fixed” or “How I Audited a Website in 30 Minutes”)
-
Embedding a contact form directly on every page to reduce friction
🗨️ I’d love your thoughts on:
-
From a client’s point of view, does my site build trust?
-
What would you add/remove/improve?
-
Any real feedback (even brutal honesty) is appreciated! 🙏
Thanks in advance! Hopefully this helps others in the same boat too.
Cheers,
Naveen
